Why choose Meredith-June Photography?

the memory of your baby with custom portraits because you can never get those moments back. Never forget those little fingers and toes, the tiny spit bubbles or peach fuzz hair.

Custom photography is more than just a photograph because it caters to you, the client. I make sure every detail is thought of and every moment captured.  This is a                               experience. I set up the studio, edit the images, and create a gallery with every detail in mind. My clients know I will give them devoted one on one attention to ensure they are happy with their session.

Your child’s newborn photos are worth the investment because they are short and fleeting days that are so                          to remember.

Babies are only newborns for a very short time.

What to expect

The comfort and safety of your baby is my top priority.

The room will be pretty warm and a sound machine will be playing to help soothe your little one.

Most newborn shots will be taken with baby unclothed, but I love to incorporate layers and other accessories to help make your images stand out.

Mini sessions usually last about 30 minutes and most full sessions are 2 hours max.

I have a prep page (and email) to help you prep your baby for the best sleep during our time together. I encourage parents to read over it upon booking,
but I cannot stress enough how important it is to read and follow my advice the morning of the session.

Once you have decided to book me as your photographer, here’s how things play out:

We share excitement over meeting you & your new baby

You’ll fill out the booking form which submits your session fee and also holds your due date/session date on my calendar

Once the booking form is in, I send you a questionnaire so that we can begin planning your session.
(This is a great example for why it is important to book your newborn photographer as early as possible during your pregnancy.)

Since newborn photos are often done within the first two-three weeks of birth, I ask that you contact me within a couple days of delivery so that we can get it on the calendar.

After the session, I'll send you unedited images to choose from and once you make the selections, I'll get started on editing and send them to you ready to download to treasure forever!

FREQUENTLY ASKED

questions

What does the deposit cover?

It books your date on the calendar and allows us to begin the planning process. Remaining balance is due the day of the session.

When should I book?

As soon as you can! it is never too early to book your baby’s photos.
If you would like to schedule maternity photos, they are best done around 30-34 weeks,  so don’t wait! I only take a limited number of newborns each month in order to give my clients the time and dedication they and their images deserve.

Do you provide props or should I bring my own?

I have a studio full of blankets, props, headbands, hats, and other things for your baby’s photos. Please do not worry about bringing a thing. Once your session is on the books I will send a questionnaire to your email so that we can plan colors and set ups together.

Can we do parent and/or sibling photos during our session?

Yes, absolutely!! I do parent/sibling shots first thing and ask that arrangements are made for older siblings to be present only for their portion of the shoot.

So what should we wear?

Solid and soft colors photograph beautifully on most people.
I personally prefer whites, creams, and soft pinks or blues. a soft t-shirt or nice looking  button down top will look great on dad and brother.

Do both parents have to attend the newborn session?

Nope....all families are different. Some want both parents there, but if only mom can come, thats totally fine!

Can we bring other family & friends to watch?

Based on experience, I’ve found that it is better if only the parents attend.
Newborn sessions are often lengthy and require a calm, quiet environment in which we can keep baby asleep and occasionally calm him/her if they are fussy. Lots of extra time is needed for potential messes and feedings, so I do ask that you keep this an intimate and special experience for your immediate family.

How long until we see the photos?

Within a few days of your session I will upload the unedited gallery for you to choose your images through. I then ask for 2 weeks and will send you a link to download the high res files, fully edited and ready to go.

Do you shoot weekends?

Very very infrequently. Most newborn sessions are scheduled for M-F and I work with you to find a day that will best suit all schedules involved.

What’s the difference between studio and lifestyle?

This is absolutely a personal preference!
A studio session is focused 100% on the baby. We set up props and colors based on your questionnaire.
Lifestyle is for those who prefer to have their baby’s first couple of weeks documented in their home. We use your home’s natural light and rooms like the nursery, master, and living room.

take a peek at the FAQ page then let me know if you have any other questions, then we can get your baby’s session set!

It is helpful to keep your baby awake for about an hour prior to leaving. A bath is a great way to do this!

I've found feeding right before you leave home (and top off when you arrive if needed).
During the session if your baby needs to eat again, we will absolutely stop to do that.

Their comfort is my top priority. Bringing an extra bottle or two is often helpful as it allows the baby to eat right where they are at if they just need a little extra so as to not totally disrupt his/her pose or set up.

Plan to bring baby in something easy to remove. If you decide to dress them please dress baby in something that does not need to go over the head.

If you have older children you hope to bring to the photo session, we will do their part and family shots first so that big brother/sister is free to leave after they are done.

It will be (very) warm in the studio to keep baby content!

I will have a few set ups ready to go based on your questionnaire.
